Get ready for a bubbly explosion of fun with this simple Elephant Toothpaste experiment!

Ingredients:
– 250mL Glass Erlenmeyer Flask or an empty plastic bottle
– Dry yeast
– Warm water
– Liquid dish soap
– 3% hydrogen peroxide
– Liquid food coloring
– Measuring cups
– Measuring spoons
– Safety goggles or glasses
– Large tub or tray
– Funnel
– Infrared non-contact thermometer
Directions:
1. Choose a fun spot for this experiment where spills won’t be a headache to clean up.
2. Have your child put on safety goggles and don clothes that can handle a splash (trust me, it’ll be worth it!).
3. In a small bowl, mix one packet of dry yeast with 1/4 cup of warm water and let it sit for about 30 seconds—this will activate the yeast.
4. Grab your flask or plastic bottle and carefully pour in 150 mL of hydrogen peroxide, followed by a tablespoon of liquid dish soap and about 15 drops of your favorite food coloring (choose something vibrant for maximum effect!).
5. Using a funnel, pour the yeast mixture into the hydrogen peroxide solution. Get ready for the magic—watch as the colorful foam erupts and spills out like a gigantic, frothy toothpaste!
6. Once the fizzles have settled down, clean up your space by rinsing everything in the sink.
Enjoy the wild, colorful explosion and talk to your little scientist about the cool chemical reactions they just witnessed!
